: Okay, I see. Will putting that template on any page lead directly to that page on the other language site? Or does it lead to the main page of that language's site? -- [[User:Shaney|Shaney]] 05:02, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)

::It's just a link <nowiki>[[Tsukuba Shi|Nihongo]]</nowiki> like that. BTW I found a Japanese kind of Wiki thing today called Encyclopedia Tsukubitanica. It has about 1,000 entries, similar to our effort.--[[User:Ukiyoe|Ben]] 06:12, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)

:Can you tell me the link to the Tsukubitanica (great name!). Maybe we can partner with them an add a link from each other's top pages? -- [[User:Shaney|Shaney]] 06:31, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Does anyone have a nice representative photo of something in Tsukuba that could be used on the front page of the wiki? -- [[User:Shaney|Shaney]] 12:02, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

== The full (and impressive) name ==

During my stay many, many years ago I occationally heard the city referred to as '''Tsukuba Kenkyuu Gakuen Toshi'''. That is rather formidable. However, is it an official name? The city can defend the use of '''Kenkyuu''' and '''Gakuen''' but I am not so sure about the '''Tohi''' part, yet.

== Links to maps.google.com ==

There is a lot of description of locations here. How about complementing these with links to Google Maps?

On entering [http://maps.google.com/ Google Maps] and entering '''Tsukuba, Japan''' one is brought to a map of Japan centered at [http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Tsukuba,+Japan&spn=0.125923,0.174983&hl=en Tsukuba wanwan-land], not sure what that is but it is not Tsukuba city.

[http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Tsukuba,+Japan&ll=36.080876,140.116367&spn=0.126130,0.174983&hl=en This link] is however centered around the city. To center the map around a position, just double-click the mouse at that point.

Some example:

*[http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Tsukuba,+Japan&ll=36.060852,140.122139&spn=0.007885,0.010936&hl=en Doho Park]
