--CAMINO HAS NOW CLOSED, UNFORTUNATELY. A REAL LOSS TO TSUKUBA!--

A trattoria with a casual, homely atmosphere offering tasty pasta, pizza and other Italian dishes. Pasta or pizza sets from 1,260 yen (lunch sets from 1,000 yen available Tues. to Fri.). Menu in Japanese and Italian only, but the staff are very helpful.

For a real treat try the "Camino course," available both at lunch and dinner time--choose any antipasti, pasta, pizza, seafood or meat dish, dessert, *and* beverage from the menu or the blackboard--all for 4,200 yen total for two people. This has got to be the best value in town! Here's a recommended selection for seafood lovers: warm assorted seafood with garlic and lemon ("umi no sachi no onsei, garlic lemon sauce") for the antipasti, smoked salmon tagliatelle (a creamy fettuccine--mmmm) for the pasta, any of today's pizzas from the blackboard or the regular menu (all prepared in a real pizza oven; the oyster pizza in season is incredible), fish of the day (usually oven-baked with herbs), "makka na orange" (Sicilian orange juice) or a glass of wine for the beverage, and different desserts so you can share with your partner. That'll cost you 2,100 per person, tax included.
